Java Security Certificate - Errors
  • If students are unable to add attachments, view/post discussion messages, then it is most likely due to the Java Security Certificate being denied at some time.  When attempting to add an attachment they may see a window similar to the one below, please notice the RED X - this means that the Java Security Certificate was not accepted at some point.

  • To fix this problem, students must access their computer Control Panel.  They need to select and open the Java icon within the Control Panel, as shown below:

  • Select the Security tab, and the Certificates option.

  • Once the Certificates area opens, select and Remove any that may be listed that are associated with WebCT.  Close the Certificates box, and select OK to save the changes.

  • Delete any Temporary Internet Files that might reside on your computer.  In Internet Explorer this can be done within the Control Panel by selecting the Internet Options icon.  Under the General tab, select the option shown below - Delete Files.  Select OK once the process is complete.

  • Restart your computer and log into your online course, remembering to select the ALWAYS option when prompted for any Java Security Certificates.
